1997 Sea Ray 210

Posted on January 14, 2014

1997 Sea Ray 210 AKA "Point Five" slightly modified with a wakeboard tower and trim tabs.

She is named "Point Five" after the infamous Point Five of Bull Shoals Lake Arkansas where my father once grounded her at a hair over 40mph into a slate shelf that was submerged about two feet under the waterline. The shelf extends out a good ways into the lake and she brought all of the Sea Ray's locomotion to a complete stop and wedged the lower unit into a fracture in the rock. I watched the whole thing while wake boarding behind my Cousin's Moomba. My Cousin knew the correct navigational path to take - my father unfortunately did not.

There was a hell of a struggle to free the old girl off the shelf, but we got her out of there eventually and she somehow was able to return to the dock under her own power. The good people at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock and Marina put her back together and had her back in our hands for the last day of our houseboat trip down there.

That fateful day was many years ago and "Point Five" has kept on pulling wake boarders and all manner of sea faring folk ever since. Most frequently she hails Geist Reservoir as her home port of call. Occasionally in the early morning mists or the late summer sunset glow she can be seen cutting a wake while flying the colors of the Nordic Raven.

It's great to see Point Five on here! Many great times have been had on her and many more to come. I'm ready for wakeboard camp to start up again.
